Counselling for Children

Cotswold Counselling offers counselling up to the age of 11 years.  This is available either in a school setting or at our Centre in Cirencester under certain circumstances.  Some local schools buy in this service but some parents choose to pay themselves and the child is seen at the Cirencester premises.  This team of specialist trained counsellors is headed by a professional and highly experienced therapist.

This style of work requires in depth specialist training and the resources required for Play Therapy hence the necessity to make a fixed fee for these sessions.

Contact with the Centre is made initially either by a parent or a school and the relevant coordinator is then informed and will contact the parent/school to assess the situation.

Information for Parents and Professionals

We have a team of counsellors specifically trained to work one to one with adolescents, for young people who are struggling with their life experience.  We provide a supportive place at times of crisis where they can safely express themselves and be heard and understood. The process of counselling can support the young people in reflection, possible decision making and finding their own resources to cope with the challenges facing them.

Children and young people can be seen for counselling at the Centre in Cirencester. They may refer themselves or be referred by parents, GPs or other agencies concerned with the wellbeing of young people.
