We offer confidential, one-to-one counselling at three centres in Gloucestershire - Cirencester, Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Campden. Counselling is available at various times from 9am - 9pm between Monday and Friday. Clients meet regularly with their counsellor for an agreed number of sessions in a private and confidential seeting within the Centres. There is the opportunity for long or short term counselling.
When you contact us, administrative details are taken. We will then arrange a telephone appointment for you with our Counsellor Coordinator who will discuss things in greater detail and from there will be able to pair you with one of our counsellors.
We offer a limited home counselling service for clients who are not able to reach one of our Centres due to mobility or health issues. Although it is generally agreed that a neutral venue is the most conducive to fruitful therapy, when this is not possible, useful support can be given in a client's home
Criteria and Assessment
The criteria are the potential client's inability to attend one of our centres for reasons such as:
· physical infirmity e.g. illness, impaired vision, lack of mobility
· no access to transport
· worries re leaving the home, e.g. caused by agoraphobia or depression
· commitment to caring for another
Following a referral, our Home Counselling Co-ordinator will make an appointment to visit the client at their home in order to make an initial assessment for which a small fee is asked. However, we never turn people away.
If the client is suitable for our home counselling service and wishes to go ahead with counselling sessions, a counsellor will be allocated. Visits will be weekly and usually at the same time, initially for six weeks. By then client and counsellor will have decided together whether to end or continue, generally with an option for up to 26 visits in total.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer a home counselling service where drug or alcohol addiction is involved or where there may be safety issues for a visiting counsellor.
No Smoking Policy
At the Cotswold Counselling centres there is no smoking in the buildings. So for home visits we ask that clients do not smoke during the sessions and clear the room of smoke before the counsellor arrives.
